Residents Weigh In On Hopes for New Community Space

The Parks team and DHM Design team hosted a table outside the Family FunPlex on Monday, January 26, where attendees learned more about the project. The future park site is located on Greeley’s west side along Hwy 34, near Boomerang Ditch and the new Westgate neighborhood. The project area is also adjacent to current and planned development and offers opportunities for trail connections to nearby destinations like Redtail Park and the Sheep Draw Trail.

Visitors shared their feedback on what they hope the park will look like and which activities will be available. Large display boards featured themes such as nature play structures, soft-surface trails, and a fenced dog park. Participants could place a dot sticker on the images that best reflected their hopes for the new park. Residents could also explore a detailed map of the site, highlighting the parcel of land and its surroundings. The map displayed nearby roads, housing developments and potential trail connections, providing important context for the park’s future development.

The project team appreciates the valuable input received from community members. This feedback will help guide the park’s design phase. Additional opportunities to share your thoughts and ideas will be available in the coming weeks, as preliminary concepts are shared. Documents shown at the January pop-up event can be found in the documents section on the right hand column of the project page.
