Why This Park?

The playground has provided 15 years of play and now presents an exciting opportunity for enhancement. Equipment and surfacing no longer meet updated safety standards and suffer from sun degradation, wear, and tear.

Greeley’s Parks Planning team has been busy behind the scenes selecting a design team, so you won’t see progress - yet! We want to provide an update on the work this entails. You can see from the project lifecycle that this phase is “Design Team Selection." Using the feedback from residents via the digital survey, the team packaged it with the project budget and scope of work and sent it to playground design companies. This package is called a Request for Proposals, or RFP. It's basically the city's way of saying, "here's what our community needs and what we have to spend; show us your ideas." Design companies then respond with their ideas, experience, and approximate costs, etc. The Parks team then reviews each submission to find the design company whose plan best matches those requirements.

Stay tuned for our next update, which will be the selected design team and a glimpse at their playground design for Peak View!

Thank you to the residents who shared their input on the future improvement options for the Peak View Playground. Your feedback is helping us design a space that reflects what the neighborhood wants and needs.

How Residents Use the Park Today

Survey participants answered a multiple-choice question and shared how they currently use Peak View Park. The following is listed in order of most popular use of the park:

    • Play on the playground – 96 responses
    • Outdoor recreation and walking – 81 responses
    • Meeting or gathering with neighbors and friends – 38 responses
    • Other activities – 13 responses (picnic, kite flying, pick up soccer games)

This confirms that the park is a well-used neighborhood space, especially for families with young children.

How Often Families Expect to Visit the Updated Playground

Most respondents said they would visit often, showing strong demand for updated, age-appropriate play equipment:

    • The majority selected the top two frequency options for how regularly they expect to visit.

    What’s Next

The design team is using this feedback to develop playground concepts that better support play, exploration and community gathering within the project budget. Updated designs will be shared for public review soon.
